The Lot river and water sports
There are many ways to enjoy the Lot river. It's very popular to rent canoes and see the surroundings from the water. Canoes can be rented off site in nearby villages. During high season you are welcome to use our SUP (stand-up paddling) boards. And for those who want to dip into the river, there is a small sandy beach nearby.
It's a five minute drive to the beautiful medieval village Puy l'Evêque. During summer season you can take a boat tour on the so called 'bateaux gabares' (flat bottom boats).
Enjoying the river
As La Croze is situated alongside the river, the sound of rushing water from the nearby waterfall comes to meet you. Two of the gites have their terrace directly on the river. It's a perfect spot to take an afternoon nap or to enjoy the view.

The surroundings are great for outdoor activities like a bike ride, walks and going for a run. Along the Lot river you will find a 160 km route called the Voies Vertes (green roads). They are clearly marked and for all levels. There are bike rentals in the area. Another option is to visit and walk around the many vineyards the Cahors region has to offer.
The area around the Lot is well knows for its many weekly markets in nearby villages and towns. In the summer the so called 'Vide Greniers/Brocante' are added to the mix. They are wonderful places to buy typical French items for good prices. There is always a bargain to find and lovely memories to take home.
